Matthew Ashton, also known as Ash is a proud stylist, AMBASSADOR of ARTEGO haircare, and owner of ASHTON WIGS CO. Ash’s work is Inclusive, inspired by Art, and challenges traditional beauty standards.

Since beginning his career as a hairdresser, Ash has made waves in the industry by quickly becoming known for his creative flair and disruption to beauty trends.

After building a respected reputation styling both Men and Women’s hair in salon environments, Ash easily transitioned into Editorial and Commercial work. In 2022, he was announced as a member of the FAME TEAM, earning a respected title as an industry talent.

Ash has been privileged enough to work on some exciting creative campaigns - both in print and onscreen. During his editorial journey Ash has worked on shoots for magazine publications such as Harper’s BAZAAR, ROLLING STONE and L’Officiel. These opportunities have led to his work being showcased in advertisements, social media campaigns and music videos.

In partnership with Artego Hair Care, Ash was the Hair Director for Karla Spetic's Sydney Fashion Week ‘2022 runway look ‘OASIS ‘23’ runway. His styling for Karla's runway look was featured in InStyle Style Icons magazine, Daily Telegraph, Journal magazine. The following year he was Hair Director once again, this time for Asiym’s debut runway collection, ‘Liberty'.

Ash's wide range of experience has grown his creative vision into a unique and socially informed style, earning him the title of AHFA NSW/ACT Hairdresser of the Year 2023.
